Cleaning Kits
Individual tools will be illustrated in the following sections.
For illustrations of the use of the tools see the Mosin Nagant Rifle Exploded Views and Disassembly page and question #37 on the Mosin Nagant FAQs page.

Finnish Army issued tool kit and pouch as indicated by the SA mark.
The tools are a mixture of Finnish and Soviet production with the brass jag and cleaning rod extension being Finnish.

Finnish M27 (Army) kit with muzzle protector, screwdriver, and oil bottle.
(courtesy "JamesP")
kit008.jpg (26063 bytes)
This is a Soviet M91/30 tube type kit produced from around 1930 to 1941.  One half of the tube doubles as the muzzle cover with a notch to fit over the front sight.  The other half has a round hole in the side so it can be used as a cleaning rod handle and a slot in the end to hold the screwdriver blade.   The blade has the firing pin protrusion gauge notches with one large notch that can be used as a wrench on the firing pin shank.  (pictures courtesy of "juk73")
kit009a.jpg (48078 bytes) kit009b.jpg (35109 bytes)
The following kits are primarily Soviet, with some Eastern European tools mixed in.
