After WWII the Soviet Union shared much of its weapons technology with its satellite countries, including the Mosin rifles and carbines. The Albanian M91/30 follows the same basic pattern as the Soviet M91/30 with some unique differences. This is due in part to the fact that Albania did not receive aid directly from the Soviet Union but from China, to which it had much stronger ties. The barrel shank markings are practically nonexistent having only the date and a serial number along with a proof identical to that found on Chinese T53s. The style of receiver is the same as Chinese T53s which follow the pattern of final Izhevsk production in 1946-1948. The Albanian M91/30 stock has a distinctive high comb unlike any other country although some T53 stocks are similar. The rear sight base is probably the most interesting feature of these rifles. It is unlike any other Mosin Nagant as it is a sleeve as found on Soviet carbines, but in M91/30 length.

Sights

The Albanian M91/30 sights are very similar to the Soviet model with a notable exception. The rear sight base is a sleeve held in place with one pin at the rear. This is much like the M38/M44 rear sight base only longer and is understandable since Albania received the design from China rather than the Soviet Union and China only produced T53s with this type of base. The leaf and slide are the same type as the Soviet M91/30 with graduations on top of the leaf from 1 to 20 reprsenting 100s of meters.

The front sight base is integral with the barrel and the same size as the Soviet version. The post and globe is the milled type and also matches the Soviet M91/30.
